Brett Sroka is a composer and interdisciplinary artist traversing the spheres of contemporary music, art and technology. In the mediums of music, sound, sculpture and video, his work has been presented at The New Museum in New York City, Manifesta 12 Palermo, Italy, Roulette in Brooklyn, NY, the Institute of Electronic Arts at Alfred University, NY and the Galway Jazz Festival in Ireland. He has released six records of original music, working with musicians such as Jason Moran, Avishai Cohen and Mary Halvorsen. In 2015-2021 he initiated and curated the performance program at Levy Gorvy Gallery in New York City, producing aesthetic dialogues between the performing and visual arts for their regular series of exhibition events. Sroka's video/audio installation, Endless Song, is currently on exhibition at the Galway Arts Centre, in Galway, Ireland and recently at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin. Commissioned by Interface, in Connemara, Ireland, the work was developed on site over three years as part of the Woodland Symposium, a group of artists responding to the ongoing reforestation and revitalization of the native woodlands. Sroka currently lives and works between New York and Istanbul.
